The playlists worth backing up
Playlists are the fragile part of a streaming library. Tracks get pulled when licensing lapses, artists remove catalogue during label disputes, and the algorithmic playlists rewrite themselves on a schedule. A playlist you built in 2019 is not the same playlist today, and the songs that vanished from it left no record behind.
Discover Weekly and Release Radar are the clearest case. They are regenerated every Monday and Friday, and last week's version is simply gone. There is no history, no archive and no way to get it back. If a Discover Weekly ever lands well, it has a shelf life measured in days, and downloading it is the only way to keep it.
Collaborative playlists are similarly volatile. Anyone with the link can remove tracks, and there is no undo that reaches back further than the recently-removed list. Wedding, party and road-trip playlists are worth pulling down for a different reason: venues have bad Wi-Fi, rural highways have no signal at all, and a USB stick does not buffer.
And then there is the ordinary case. You built something good over four years, and you would rather not be one subscription lapse away from losing access to all of it.

Long playlists, and what to expect
There is no track limit on this page. What changes with size is time, not permission.
A short playlist under 30 tracks typically finishes in one to two minutes. A hundred tracks takes roughly five to eight minutes. Anything past 300 is processed in batches and can take twenty minutes or more, particularly at peak hours. The progress indicator is honest about where the job actually is, rather than showing a fake bar that jumps to 90 percent and stops.
Keep the tab open while a large job runs. The conversion happens on our servers, but the archive is assembled and handed to your browser at the end, and closing the tab abandons the job. If your connection drops mid-transfer, re-paste the link. Completed conversions are cached briefly, so a retry is usually much faster than the first attempt.
One practical tip for very large libraries: split by album instead. Pulling a 900 track playlist in one pass works, but a set of album downloads gives you a folder structure you can actually navigate afterwards.
Playlist questions
Why does my own playlist fail to load?
Almost always because it is private. Spotify's public catalogue does not expose private playlists to anyone but you inside your own logged-in session, so no external tool can see it. Open the playlist, use the three-dot menu, choose "Make public", paste the link again, and set it back to private once the download finishes.
Is there really no limit, or is it limited after a while?
No limit and no paid tier. Very large jobs are queued behind smaller ones so a single 1,000 track request cannot monopolise the converter, but it will complete. We do not gate the ZIP button, which is the feature most other free tools charge for.
Will the download match the playlist order?
Yes. Files are numbered by position in the playlist, so a sequenced playlist such as a DJ set, a workout build or a wedding running order plays back exactly as intended when sorted by filename.
What happens to tracks that cannot be downloaded?
The job continues without them and the ZIP includes a plain-text report listing each skipped track and the reason: region-locked, removed from the catalogue, or a local file that was never on Spotify in the first place.
Can I download Discover Weekly or Release Radar?
Yes, since these are ordinary playlists as far as a link is concerned. Copy the share link the same way. Because they regenerate on a fixed schedule, download them before the next refresh or the version you liked is gone.
Does downloading a playlist affect the artists' stream counts?
No. Converting a track does not register a stream, which also means it does not pay the artist. If a playlist introduced you to someone new, the meaningful support is buying their work directly, on Bandcamp or at a show. That is worth far more to them than a stream is.
